Millstream in the field

April was another busy month for the Millstream Team, this time we’ve got pictures to share from the National Heavy Equipment Show held in Toronto, as well as from some site visits with our Hydropower customers in the Sudbury and Sturgeon Falls area.

National Heavy Equipment Show held in Toronto

At the Heavy Equipment show we partnered with our colleagues from RMH to talk with operators and manufacturers of heavy equipment about retrofitting and upgrading hydraulic cylinders and pivots to grease-free bushings and wear components from Thordon Bearings.

Hitting the road later in the month, we delivered a new split Thordon SXL bearing to the Vale Big Eddy power station, located just West of Sudbury.   We took care of the rush delivery to make sure not to hold up any progress on repairs currently underway at the site.  While we were in the area, we stopped in to meet with West Nipissing Power to chat about potential upgrades to their water lubricated turbine guide bearings.  Not much snow melt this year, but some heavy spring rains meant lots of water coming through that day!

Lastly, we headed back to the workshop and started gathering up supplies and samples for more tradeshows to come in May.  We will be exhibiting at the Ontario Water for The Future conference and tradeshow jointly hosted by the Ontario Water Works Association and the Water Environment Association of Ontario, held in Niagara Falls (May 5-7).   Shortly after we finish there, we will move up the road and setup at the Power of Water Canada conference in Niagara-on-the-Lake (May 8-10) to connect with our local hydropower customers.
